Why Running: No offense to attorneys, government employees, or career politicians, but I am none of the above, and have no desire to add to the bureaucracy of any government. My sole purpose for seeking election is to reduce the size, control, and influence of government in our daily lives and businesses.

There are four Ideas I will be constantly promoting: Limited Government, Free Enterprise, Individual Responsibility, and Private Property rights.

The eight conservative leaders of the Senate have given me their public support as they are excited to have me join them: Ted Harvey, Mike Kopp, Scott Renfroe, Greg Brophy, Dave Schultheis, Mark Scheffel, Kevin Lundberg, and Shawn Mitchell. Former U.S. Representative Tom Tancredo stepped out to publicly give me his support because he knows the value of having Constitutional leaders in every level of our government.

I am a businessman – I have a career already and do not seek to continue a political profession by careful voting and not stepping on toes. I aim to make the difference that hard-working Coloradans want: real budget reform and a government limited in power and scope.

My job will not be to Bring Home the Bacon to our district, since that means for every pocket I pick, we will get our pockets picked 34 other times by the other Senators and we all lose. Legislators need to come together to solve state-wide problems from the perspective of our districts, not to enhance ourselves at the cost of others.

Why Running: When I was in Grade school in Denver and came home from school my father who was in the State legislature would ask me, “How was your Day?” I would tell him about a problem at school and he would ask, “What are you going to do about it?” At a young age I learned that I should be part of the solution when problems arise. Serving in the state senate would give me the opportunity to be a part of the solution to our very serious economic problems including our high unemployment rate, high foreclosures rates and the problems facing small businesses.
We need to get people back to work in jobs that put food on the table today and are long term investments for our communities. Jobs in the timber, renewable energy, and tourism industries and jobs in health care and education will benefit us immediately and payoff in the future.
