Why Running: As a native Tennessean who understands and shares the
needs and desires of my constituents, I feel much is left to do and
they deserve a Congressman who continues putting them above politics.
I have been consistently ranked by the nonpartisan National Journal as
one of the most independent Members of Congress. I want the people’s voice in this district to continue to be heard whether they are Democrats, Republicans or Independents. My record and beliefs reflect my commitment and the will of the district. It’s an honor to serve Tennessee and am humbled by the trust bestowed upon me. Roane County more needs to be done. I will continue staying on top of the ash spill to make sure residents are made whole again while focusing on job creation and holding the line on spending.
