Profession: Waiting on information from the candidate.

State Representative District 32
Dennis Ferguson Democrat

Profession: I have 30+ years in the paving business and as a small business owner. I am currently sales/estimator for Professional Asphalt and Ferguson’s Paving.

Education: I attended Roane County Schools my entire life and graduated high school in 1980.

Organizations: I enjoy spending time with family and friends, hunting, fishing, and golfing.

Why Running: When I first considered running 18 years ago, it was because I believed I could make a difference for our community, and I still believe that today.

Top Issue Beliefs: For 18 years, I have fought and served to give our district the best chances for success while maintaining a 100 percent attendance record in the House. Whether it’s voting for incentives to bring businesses like Hemlock and Volkswagen to Tennessee, or authoring sweeping legislative reforms to benefit Tennessee seniors, or working to bring $500 Million in new education funding to Tennessee, I have shown a commitment to these issues and will continue to keep that commitment when elected again to the State House of Representatives. As always, if there is anything I can do to help you, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

The enthusiasm for politics has only grown since and over the years Julia has volunteered on several candidates' campaigns for State House, State Senate, Governor, U.S. Senate and even worked for President George W. Bush in 2000 and 2004.

Why Running: I’m running for State House because I want to give Roane County a resounding voice in Nashville. With unemployment in Roane County at nearly nine percent, I want to use my small business experience to advocate policies that will encourage business development in our area and create jobs. I also want to put a spotlight on improving education for Tennessee’s children who are forced to be part of a state education system that consistently ranks amongst the lowest in the country. I want to do everything that I can to ensure growth and prosperity for District 32 that will provide families the opportunity to flourish. Whether it is encouraging business development or improving education for our children - I PROMISE to fight for the citizens for District 32.

Top Issue Beliefs: Building a steady growth for occurring and RE-occurring businesses. Building a school system that is beneficial to our students. Utilizing the volunteer programs to cater to adult continued learning. Building infrastructure to sustain working industry and bringing America back to the people one small act at a time because the future can improve one small step at a time.
