Experience: I am 47 years old and have spent 21 years in rural, small town law enforcement. I know the problems we face. I have helped run three law enforcement agencies and two jails. I know the liability to the taxpayers when things are not done correctly. We have made much progress during the last four years and I don’t want to see that end. The level of training and professionalism in the Sheriff’s department has greatly advanced. Through careful management of our budget (YOUR TAX DOLLARS) we have been able to upgrade our equipment and complete advanced training programs, which enables us to do a better job for you.

Why Running: Morgan County needs a WORKING SHERIFF. A Sheriff who leads by example, who is willing to work hard and who has the experience to do the job right. A Sheriff who believes county funds should be spent wisely, not wasted, and who will run a department the citizens can be proud of. My experience, training and dedication to the job cannot be equaled by any other candidate. I want your family and mine to have law enforcement you can depend on. That’s why I’m running for Sheriff.

Top Issue Beliefs: Drugs are the biggest law enforcement problem we have. Our department has successfully prosecuted people in both state and federal court on drug charges. I plan on expanding our drug enforcement efforts at no cost to you by using money seized from drug dealers and grants, when available.

I am solid in my belief that with my experience and personal concern I can make a change in the law enforcement of the county.

Top Issue Beliefs: Illegal use of drugs, theft and the need for communication between the public and sheriff and the department. The concerns and issues of the public will be handled by person to person contract and not an automated machine. The sheriff will have an open door policy to the public and will value the help of citizens of the communities of the county in resolving any law enforcement issues.

Why Running: I believe that all citizens of Morgan County deserve to have the same protection under the laws of the great state of Tennessee.
